In Its Centennial Year, Coast Packing Unveils Interactive Online Presence Built for Consumers, Food Services Trade – and All Who Value Animal Fats as the Soul of Flavor
New National TasteMap® Offers Realtime Access to 1500+ Spots Where Diners Can Taste the Difference Lard and Beef Tallow Make in Popular Dishes
VERNON, Calif. (November 17, 2022) – As Coast Packing, the largest supplier of animal fat shortenings in the Western U.S. observes its centennial year, the company is rolling out a refreshed, interactive, top-to-bottom online experience aimed at educating as it engages.
Architected in association with New York-based Lounge Lizard, Coast Packing online serves the gamut of Coast’s constituents: major manufacturers, CPG companies, QSR and fast-food restaurant chains, broadline food service distributors, retailers, smaller food service operations, and leading bakeries.
“We’ve done a deep dive on what our various audiences want and need, and have adapted our online presence accordingly,” said Eric R. Gustafson, Coast CEO. With our updated site, improved interactivity is just where it starts. Our mantra throughout the redesign has been simple: use the online medium to comprehensively anticipate and address the needs of Coast’s diverse and growing customer base while advancing our position as a thought leader for animal fats in the food industry.”
The new site showcases Coast’s interactive, evolving TasteMap® — a national initiative built on more than five years of pointing consumers to places where they can taste the difference lard and beef tallow make in all kinds of food. The map lists some 1500+ establishments across the country and growing. Originally an outgrowth of Coast’s participation in the NMCA and PDRA drag racing circuits, TasteMap combines all of the past editions (maps) into one interactive destination, which can be sorted by various filters, such as location, fat, type of establishment, or popular food item or holiday.
Coast’s expanded online presence also serves as a growing repository for recipes – unique to Coast, through Corporate Chef Greg Hozinsky and the company’s annual #LardLovers Contest, among other sources. The site is the go-to resource for Coast’s full line of products; food industry news; company announcements; news coverage, including Coast/Ipsos consumer opinion surveys; Coast’s blog; highlights from Coast’s R&E Racing team; current employment opportunities with the company; newsletter signup; and more.
