SALARY RANGE: $25-$36 /hour
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Sanitation Lead Technician is responsible for supervising and assisting with cleaning and sanitation of all production equipment, machines, and work areas to establish a clean, sanitized, and safe working environment.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Supervision
- Supervise Sanitation staff by providing direction on daily tasks.
- Oversee sanitation staff progress and responsibilities.
- Train new staff on adherence to BRC, USDA, FDA, Cal-OSHA standards.
- Assist in performance management and development of sanitation staff across all 3 shifts.
- Train, coach, and develop employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and assisting in providing appropriate resolutions.
- Assist with USDA Inspection process.
- Fill in as needed to achieve results.
- Execute & maintain confined space training & program; obtain and maintain trainer certification.
Quality Assurance
- Calibrate temperature thermometers using a master mercury thermometer for the surge tank, cooking tanks, CCP 1B, etc. to verify precise temperature readings.
- Confirm and coordinate proper distribution of uniforms and personal protective equipment (hard hat, eye wear, ear plugs, hair net, and safety boots)
- Execute Good Manufacturing Practices to ensure products are consistently produced and controlled according to quality standards.
- Oversee tank cleaning and master sanitation schedules.
- Responsible for training, completion, & auditing of all sanitation paperwork needed in support of USDA, FDA, BRC, & Cal-OSHA requirements.
General Sanitation
- Verify 3rd shift cleaning by visually inspecting and performing swab tests to meet sanitation standards.
- Organize and prepare cleaning chemicals, sanitizers, and chemical concentrations need for sanitation.
- Ensure safe chemical storage and manage chemical accidents.
- Clean oil tanks by utilizing hoses, squeegees, chemical products, and other sanitation equipment to ensure cleanliness of the tanks for product storage.
- Clean drains and waste areas using scrubs and brushes from product exposure.
- Disassemble production equipment and thoroughly clean and sanitize equipment.
- Clean oil filtration systems (PX) and sump to provide proper disposal of chemical agents and waste.
- Collaborate with other department staff to ensure that food safety and workplace cleanliness are being
- implemented.
- Utilize hoses, mops, brooms, buckets, and other tools to respond to emergency clean ups.
- Sweep warehouse floors to maintain a clean and sanitary warehouse.
- Clean and sanitize ceiling, windows, and pipes from product exposure.
- Document low-stock supplies and inventory stock.
- Maintain a clean yard for shipping and loading.
- Spread herbicide throughout the yard to cut unwanted foliage.
- Replace Pesticide Controls (BAIT stations, TinCats, Glue Traps, and UV lights) as needed.
Products destined for Re-work
- Document damaged or returned products.
- Transfer flawed products to the Re-work area.
- Organize Re-work products within product type.
- Disassemble categorized product and place into melting tank.
- Perform other projects and duties as assigned.
