Washington A. Paredes serves as HR Manager for Coast Packing Company, a position he has held since May 2017. In this capacity, he leads the company’s talent management, risk management, total rewards and organizational development efforts.
Paredes began his HR career in fast fashion, as Distribution Center HR Assistant at Forever 21. During his five-year tenure with Forever 21, he was promoted to increasing levels of responsibility, including managing HR teams for distribution centers globally, global project management, domestic retail recruitment, and East Coast employee relations. He has served in various roles during his 10-year career, at organizations across a range of industries. Most recently, he was Employment Manager for the Archdiocese of Los Angeles and HR Consultant for a start-up insurance brokerage firm.
Born in Guayaquil, Ecuador, Paredes immigrated to the United States as a toddler with his mother. He holds an undergraduate degree in business from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, and an M.B.A. from Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles.
On the job, he is passionate about building people up as individuals and as members of a team, and brings to the workplace a warm sense of humor. In his free time, Paredes enjoys spending time with his family, encouraging his daughters’ love of nature and animals, traveling abroad, exercising daily, expanding his knowledge of gastronomy, and reading both historical fiction and science fiction.
